THE OUTDOOR SCHOOL

Accommodations

We are here to make your experience delightful. There is always a way to find a staff member to meet your needs-even in the middle of the night. Enjoy the summer camp experience right here on our beautiful Lake LBJ.

Cabins – Arranged along the lakefront, our 34 rustic cabins accommodate 500+ overnight guests. Each cabin is equipped with a minimum 6 twin size bunk beds, an overhead light, and a super fan (for the hot months). Be sure to bring your own linens, however as we do not provide them.

Bath Houses – Just a short walk away from your cabin, each bathhouse contains private showers and private bathroom stalls, as well as numerous sinks, mirrors, and power outlets. Though simple, they are clean and practical.

Dining – Our meals are primarily served in our dining hall, The Fillin’ Station, which can seat up to 500 people. It has four serving lines and 40+ tables to ensure that everyone can get in and out in a timely fashion. For picky eaters, aside from the main entrée, there is always an amazing salad bar and sandwich station available at lunch and dinner, as well as cereal at breakfast. If you would like a BBQ cookout or picnic, or rather a theme meal such as a fiesta or luau, let us know in advance and we can arrange it. Please let us know if you have guests with dietary restrictions in advance and we will do our best to accommodate them as well.

Meetings & Gatherings

We know that taking time to meet with your group is an important part of any retreat. We have several options to assist in achieving your meeting goals.

Meeting Rooms

Town Hall – Climate controlled meeting room that seats up to 200 people comfortably.

Music Room – Climate controlled meeting room that seats 25-30 people.

Green Hall – An open-air meeting space that fits between 50-60 comfortably

Hearth Rooms – 3 open air meeting rooms. Each fit between 20-25 depending on your set up.

Amphitheaters

The Coliseum – Comfortably seats approximately 400 people. It is lit with several power outlets accessible to the stage. It contains a large fire pit behind the stage.

The Forum – Comfortably seats approximately 200 people. It is lit with several power outlets accessible to the stage. It also contains a large fire pit behind the stage.

Lone Star Amphitheater – Comfortably seats approximately 30- 45 people. It is shaped like a pentagon with all seating facing inward to a fire pit in its center. It is a great area for fire side talks and s’mores.

Pavilions

Olympia and The Parthenon are identical, just on opposite sides of camp. Both are well lit, open-air pavilions that shade our basketball courts. They can seat several hundred people or provide enough space to play games with smaller groups. Great for activities during the day or at night.

Break Out Areas

Often large groups want to break up into smaller groups during their visit. Aside from the grassy shade under one of our large oak or pecan trees, we have several gazebos, decks, shaded bleachers, and fine arts cabins that are great for groups of 10-20 to meet.

The Fillin’ Station

This is our dining hall. Though not technically a meeting area, your group will definitely gather here if you stay for a long enough period of time. Check out the Accommodations section of the website to learn more about it.

Our Property Map can give you a better idea of where some of these spaces are located.
